FLORIDA KEYS MEDIA Top 40 WEOW and Country WCTH (THUNDER COUNTRY 100.3)/FLORIDA KEYS, FL midday star KIMBERLY K. BEIER has been named one of this year’s Grand Marshals nominated by “We Got THE KEYS” for the world renowned 2017 annual Fantasy Fest parade in KEY WEST FL on OCTOBER 28th. BEIER rode out one of the biggest storms in the ATLANTIC’s history, Hurricane Irma, and will lead the floats down the historic Duval Street with thousands from all over the world in attendance.
BEIER, the only female staff member who chose to not evacuate, assisted in keeping live news updated and listeners informed via generator operated broadcasting. Beier, helped people desperate to contact their loved ones on and off the air. Hurricane Irma, as it made landfall brought destructive rains, winds and severe damage to the string of islands, especially in THE LOWER KEYS. The eye of the Category 4 storm hit CUDJOE KEY, less than 10 miles from the radio station.
According to GM RICK LOPEZ, “BEIER is a great asset to the station and the company. Her positive attitude and calming demeanor during the storm helped keep listeners informed and comforted.”
