As ALL ACCESS told you earlier today (1/22), Country programming vet KENNY JAY has been named PD for ENTERCOM Country WUSN/CHICAGO. JAY succeeds TODD CAVANAH, who added WUSN PD duties when JEFF KAPUGI left the station in late 2016 (NET NEWS 1/27/17); CAVANAH retains programming oversight of the CHICAGO cluster. “KENNY has extensive knowledge of the Country music market, and I’m confident that with him on board, US99 will continue as the number one choice for CHICAGO Country music fans,” said ENTERCOM/CHICAGO SVP/Market Mgr. JIMMY DE CASTRO. Added JAY, “US99 is legendary, and I am thrilled to be part of this team of talented individuals. I’m thankful for the opportunity and look forward to taking on this new role.” JAY is already on the job TODAY (1/22) and available immediately here.

It’s a quick return to Country radio for JAY, who was programming Country KMPS/SEATTLE leading up to the ENTERCOM-CBS RADIO merger (NET NEWS 11/17). ENTERCOM subsequently flipped KMPS to AC KSWD (NET NEWS 12/4), with JAY still on board. He first arrived at KMPS in 2016 (NET NEWS 1/14/16) following time as PD with then-CBS RADIO Country KMNB/MINNEAPOLIS. His radio resume includes stints at WUBB/SAVANNAH, GA and WWQM/MADISON, WI.
