Garth Brooks Hints at Stadium Tour in 2019

Garth Brooks‘ multi-year world tour is about to wrap in the U.S., but is it really?

During a press conference at his first of seven sold-out shows in Nashville this month, the country legend hinted that he and his team are working on something that will blow his current North American run out of the water.

“I had no idea this tour would do this,” Brooks told Taste of Country and other press when asked what is next on his list after the tour wraps on Dec. 23. “I had no idea this tour would blow up like this.”

“What our future is of touring, I don’t know,” he continued. “I can tell you this: what does allow you to do everything is you move to bigger places to play. I don’t want to leave the arenas the same way I didn’t want to leave the bars, because that’s your home. You know that. Maybe it’s time to look at, can you make a stadium show personal? Because I didn’t think you could make an arena as personal as you could a bar, and these people proved me wrong.”

“That’s the next thing,” Brooks added.

The megastar recently celebrated 6 million tickets sold on his Garth Brooks World Tour With Trisha Yearwood, making it the biggest North American tour in history and the biggest American tour in the world. Perhaps it’s time he breaks his own record?

“I can promise you this, for those people wondering what our future is — 2019, if these guys can pull off what they say it is — 2019 is going to make everything look small that we’ve done,” Brooks tells Taste of Country. “So we’re excited. We’re excited to get to swing the bat.”
