EMMIS COMMUNICATIONS Chairman/CEO JEFF SMULYAN has been named the recipient of this year’s MIKE CARROLL AWARD, given in memory of former deputy mayor and civic leader MIKE CARROLL. The annual award, selected by THE INDIANAPOLIS BUSINESS JOURNAL, honors a community member who has demonstrated CARROLL’s qualities of “determination, humility and devotion to the central INDIANA community.”
“JEFF SMULYAN’s contributions to CENTRAL INDIANA extend far beyond what he has achieved at EMMIS COMMUNICATIONS,” said INDIANAPOLIS BUSINESS JOURNAL Pres./Publisher GREG MORRIS. “He cares deeply about the community and as a result is always happy to help out organizations large and small.”
“I’m humbled to be given the MIKE CARROLL AWARD,” SMULYAN said. “MIKE was a visionary leader in our community, and I’m incredibly honored to be added to the remarkable group of previous leaders who have won this award.”
SMULYAN is the 24th recipient of the award. He will be presented the award at the IBJ’s upcoming “Engage INDIANA” event on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8th.
