RIAA Country Gold & Platinum Awards
The RIAA GOLD and PLATINUM honors for the full month of SEPTEMBER 2017 have been unveiled, and the Country format is well-represented. SOUTHERN GROUND/ELEKTRA/WAR’s ZAC BROWN BAND (ZBB) and CAPITOL NASHVILLE’s LUKE BRYAN both had strong showings this past month on the RIAA charts. ZBB walked away with 5X PLATINUM SINGLE honors for “Chicken Fried;” 3X PLATINUM SINGLE honors for “Knee Deep (ft. JIMMY BUFFETT);” 2X PLATINUM SINGLE certifications for “Whatever It Is” and “Colder Weather;” and PLATINUM SINGLE certifications for “Free,” “As She’s Walking Away (ft. ALAN JACKSON),” “Goodbye In Her Eyes,” “Highway 20 Ride,” and “Keep Me In Mind.” BRYAN earned 5X PLATINUM SINGLE honors for “Country Girl (Shake It For Me);” 4X PLATINUM SINGLE honors for “Crash My Party,” “Play It Again,” “Drunk On You,” and “That’s My Kind Of Night;” and PLATINUM SINGLE honors for “All My Friends Say,” “Home Alone Tonight,” and “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye.” BRYAN also earned 4X PLATINUM ALBUM certifications for both “Crash My Party” and “Tailgates & Tanlines.” RIAA PLATINUM ALBUM honors also went to CURB NASHVILLE’s LEE BRICE for “Hard 2 Love.”
Additionally, BLUE CHAIR/COLUMBIA NASHVILLE’s KENNY CHESNEY earned three total certifications, including a PLATINUM SINGLE for “Setting The World On Fire (ft. P!NK);” and GOLD SINGLES for “Save It For A Rainy Day” and “Wild Child (ft. GRACE POTTER).” BMLG RECORDS’ BRETT YOUNG, RCA NASHVILLE’s CHRIS YOUNG, VANNER RECORDS/RCA NASHVILLE’s MIRANDA LAMBERT, and CURB NASHVILLE’s DYLAN SCOTT each earned PLATINUM SINGLE honors with “Sleep Without You,” “Think Of You (with CASSADEE POPE),” “Vice,” and “My Girl,” respectively. Country legend DOLLY PARTON also picked up a PLATINUM SINGLE certification for “9 to 5” in addition to GOLD SINGLE honors for “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You.” ARISTA NASHVILLE’s BRAD PAISLEY also picked up GOLD SINGLE honors for “Perfect Storm.” For a complete list of RIAA awards, visit here.
