Congratulations to iHEARTMEDIA Country WACO-F (WACO 100)/WACO-KILLEEN, TX morning team, “ZACK AND JIM MORNING SHOW,” as well as afternoon host JOHN ELLIOTT, all of whom are preparing to celebrate 25 years with the station. ZACK and JIM launched their show on JANUARY 1st, 1993 and since then have been heavily involved with FORT HOOD GOOD NEIGHBORS, “THE ZACK & JIM TRAVEL CLUB,” ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S RESEARCH HOSPITAL, THE AMERICAN CANCER FOUNDATION CATTLE BARRON’S BALL, SUSAN G. KOMEN, and more. “Every station is given the same records, it’s what you do between the records that counds,” said ZACK of their time on air together thus far. Added JIM, “It’s amazing when listeners approach you and tell you that they’ve been listening to you their whole life.”
ELLIOTT also launched his show in 1993 and has since worked extensively with local and national charitable causes, including AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY, CATTLE BARRON’S BALL, HEART OF TEXAS FAIR & RODEO, RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE fundraisers, SHRINER events, CAMP VAL VERDE TRAIL RIDERS, and VFW fundraisers in addition to co-hosting WACO 100’s years ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S RESEARCH HOSPITAL radiothon each year. ELLIOTT also served on the TEXAS CIRCUIT FINALS RODEO and THE HEART OF TEXAS FAIR & RODEO board. “It feels like I just started yesterday,” said ELLIOTT. “My father always told me that it doesn’t matter what you do, but whatever you do, be the best you can be at it, and I’ve always applied that to my show. I’ve been lucky in that my listeners have always been very generous and kind. I wouldn’t have made it to 25 years here without them.”
