It’s now week two of The Voice Season 13 live shows! One vocalist was sent packing last week, leaving 11 singers to perform solely for viewer’s votes, while their respective coaches sat back, watched, and hoped for the best. On Tuesday (Nov. 28), another contestant would be sent home. Before the big revelation of who would be the unlucky one, the show provided a slate of vocally powered entertainment for viewers.
This night was all about the theatrics and fun, with Coach Miley Cyrus and her girl-power team of Ashland Craft, Brooke Simpson, and Janice Freeman strutting their very best fierce selves in a rendition of Shania Twain‘s 1999 smash hit “Man! I Feel Like a Woman.”
All four singers paid homage to Twain in leopard print outfits (which, to be exact, is a visual reference that actually belongs to Twain’s “That Don’t Impress Me Much” video — from the same album, Come On Over). Trading off verses and stanzas, with Cyrus skillfully commandeering a wild-eyed leadership, the team managed to make what could have been a slightly hokey tribute into a fun, squad-goals number.
Unfortunately, the night didn’t end on the best note for Team Miley. One singer was to be eliminated by viewer’s choice, and that singer turned out to be Freeman — a stunning blow that had Cyrus in tears.
