Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit’s The Nashville Sound won the 2018 Grammy Awards trophy for Best Americana Album on Sunday (Jan. 28). The honor was handed out during the Premiere Ceremony, which streamed online before the televised awards show.
While accepting the trophy, Isbell thanked Southeastern Records, his own record label, and then turned the microphone over to the rest of the band. Sadler Vaden thanked his family and his “parents’ record collection” before their time ran out.
The Nashville Sound previously earned a nomination for Album of the Year at the 2017 CMA Awards. Other nominees for the Best Americana Album at the 2018 Grammy Awards were Southern Blood by Gregg Allman; Shine on Rainy Day by Brent Cobb; Beast Epic by Iron & Wine; and Brand New Day by the Mavericks.
