Skagitonian receives prestigious award second year running
MOUNT VERNON, WASHINGTON, USA, November 24, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — Rebecca Murray, CEO of Skagit Media Marketing, received the prestigious Toastmaster of the Year Award for demonstrating Exceptional Leadership and Devoted Service within the Toastmasters organization. Balraj Arunasalam, Toastmasters’ International President, visiting from Sri Lanka, presented the award during Toastmasters District 2 Fall Conference on November 11, 2017.
District 2 is comprised of 180 clubs, extending from Kent, Washington to the Canadian border. Each year, the District selects one Toastmaster to be honored with the Toastmaster of the Year award. The award is presented along with the Franklin McCrillis Perpetual Trophy: awarded in recognition of Franklin McCrillis, District 2 Governor 1942-1943 and Toastmasters International President, 1945-1946. Franklin was instrumental in the formation of District 2 and transforming Toastmasters International from its early beginnings into a modern business model.
This year marks the second year running that a Skagitonian received the prestigious award. Last year Stephanie Hooper, currently serving as Division A Director, received the award for her exceptional leadership with local clubs. Both women often work as a team to present workshops on topics such as confidence in communication, leadership and improving public speaking skills. Murray is also available for hire as an emcee and technical facilitator for conferences and events.
