How did Scotty McCreery grow up so quickly? The singer and his fiancee, Gabi, walked the CMA Awards red carpet on Wednesday night (Nov. 8) and both looked stunning. Red is definitely the color of the night at the 2017 CMAs.
McCreery and Gabi Dugal will marry in 2018, with the “Five More Minutes” singer telling Taste of Country it’s going to be a small destination wedding. They were engaged in September — the 24-year-old popped the question after a hike up a mountain in North Carolina. The couple started dating soon after the singer won American Idol in 2011. They’re high school sweethearts that maintained a romance through college.
While he’s not nominated in 2017 McCreery is poised to have a very big year next year. He recently signed a new record deal with plans to release it soon. “Five More Minutes” was written two years ago after the death of his grandfather. It’s an emotional reflection that urges people to take advantage of the time they have with their loved ones.
The 2017 CMA Awards air on ABC at 8PM ET on Wednesday.
