Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton both have extensive acting resumes in addition to their long music careers, and in a new interview, McEntire says she’d love for them to star in a film together.
McEntire sat down with E! for an interview on Jan. 25, and when the interviewer asked if she’d ever consider touring with Parton, she lit up.
“Touring with Dolly? Wouldn’t that be a hoot? Yeah, I would consider that in a heartbeat,” she says, poinitng out that they have worked together before. “I love Dolly Parton. When I was doing the Reba TV show, Dolly spent the whole week with us on set. She was one of the guest stars and that’s the last time we really got to sit down and visit.”
Movies and TV Shows That Completely Misrepresent Country Music
Asked if she would be interested in doing a Thelma & Louise-type movie with Parton, McEntire didn’t hesitate.
“Absolutely!” she exclaims. “Sure I would. Anywhere you can go in the world and you say Dolly — you don’t have to say Dolly Parton — everybody knows Dolly and everybody loves Dolly. Why wouldn’t you want to hang out with her?”
McEntire’s most recently been making the rounds to promote her gospel album, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope. The project is nominated for Best Roots Gospel Album in the 60th annual Grammy Awards, which are set to air live from Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday night (Jan. 28).
