Montgomery Gentry‘s final album will drop in 2018. Titled Here’s to You, the project was completed shortly before Troy Gentry‘s death in a helicopter crash on Sept. 8.
In the days following Gentry’s death, Montgomery Gentry’s record label, Average Joes Entertainment, revealed that the duo had recently completed a new album. One song from the disc, “Better Me,” was released as a single around the same time; it features Gentry on lead vocals.
Gentry’s duo partner, Eddie Montgomery, officially announced the upcoming release of Here’s to You in a tweet on Wednesday (Nov. 8).
“I know it’s been a while, but it has been a very emotional time, but you will be hearing from [me] soon,” Montgomery writes. “Our new music is coming out, and I hope you’ll give it a listen. Me and T-Roy were very proud of this new CD.”
Here’s to You is available for pre-order on a number of different platforms. Its official release date is Feb. 2.

The helicopter crash that killed Gentry occurred in Medford, N.J.; he and Montgomery were scheduled to perform there that evening. The National Transportation Safety Board has issued its preliminary report on the crash, which expands upon initial reports that the helicopter pilot experienced mechanical issues prior to crashing.
Gentry was removed from the helicopter crash wreckage at the scene but was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. In addition to Gentry, the helicopter’s pilot, James Evan Robinson, died in the crash; crews worked for hours to remove his body from the wreck.
A celebration of life event in Gentry’s honor took place on Sept. 14.
