The guys of Midland are definitely of the no-holds-barred ilk, and during a recent tour stop in Denver, they took fans along for a video adventure as they explored a marijuana facility.
Before taking the stage at the Grizzly Rose, the trio made a pit stop at Mindful, one of the largest facilities in the U.S. where marijuana is grown, after receiving a personal invitation. Not wanting anyone to miss out on the experience, they chronicled their journey through the plant via a video they’re now sharing online with fans.
Erik Williams, national director of government and public affairs for Mindful, guided the band through the facility, explaining such things as what exactly defines “weed” and how they grow their plants.
The trio’s Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy, and Jess Carson were clearly enjoying themselves on the trek, hamming it up for the camera. “What I’m seeing is that there’s a lot of THC on this,” Wystrach says while peering into a Petri dish. “There’s a lot of weed in here.” Later, as they walk down rows of marijuana plants, he exclaims: “Oh God it’s beautiful.”
Needless to say, the guys were late to their own soundcheck—but it was all worth it, as they walked away with some samples from the facility.
Midland are set to hit the road with Little Big Town on their Breakers Tour, with Kacey Musgraves also serving as an opening act. The tour launches on Feb. 8 in Oklahoma City and ends on April 21 in Atlanta, Ga. The trio topped the Mediabase Country Airplay chart in 2017 with their breakout hit, “Drinkin’ Problem.”
