ALL ACCESS extends condolences to family, friends, and former colleagues of ALPHA MEDIA EAST TEXAS Country KYKX/TYLER-LONGVIEW, TX PD/afternoon host MATT “PHAT MATT” GANSSLE, who passed away FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27th following a battle with pneumonia (NET NEWS 10/26). GANSSLE was 37.
Since word of his passing first broke, radio friends and colleages have taken to GANSSLE’s personal FACEBOOK page to share stories and memories of the on-air and production talent. The KYKX website has also paid tribute with the following post: “The GANSSLE family and the KYKX 105.7 family want to thank the listeners for your thoughts and prayers for PHAT MATT. [He] was from KEMP, TX and enjoyed riding bulls, horses, and general country boy debauchery. He played on the air all over AMERICA, including DALLAS-FORT WORTH, SEATTLE, PORTLAND, SAN FRANCISCO, and EAST TEXAS. PHAT MATT’s favorite things to do were connecting with listeners on and off the air — he liked to have fun and lived life to the fullest in EAST TEXAS! In memory of PHAT MATT, you are encouraged to volunteer and give generously to these charitable organizations: EAST TEXAS FOOD BANK, REGARD 4 LIFE ANIMAL RESCUE, COMBAT WARRIORS INC., and NEWGATE MISSION.” Services have not yet been announced.
