Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd are “gettin’ Murd,” with Hurd having popped the question to the Grammy-winning star in July of 2017 and wedding bells set for sometime in spring of 2018.
Things began getting really real, however, a couple days before Christmas, when the pair apparently celebrated their engagement with a organized get-together.
“A proper Texas engagement party, complete with ring shots,” noted Morris of the shot she posted on Instagram Dec. 23.
A closer look reveals that she’s not talking about photos of the couple’s rings, but actual ring shots–shot glasses shaped like diamond rings. Now, that’s an engagement party we’d like to be invited to!
The “My Church” singer and her fiancé seem to be well into the planning process for their big day. “We just want it to feel like a party. We don’t want it to feel stuffy or have this long 18-course dinner. We want it to be like us,” Morris says. “There’s definitely going to be margaritas and some Motown music, and my dog will be there. It’s going to be a complete reflection of both of our styles and tastes, and I’m so excited to share it with everybody.”
Morris has also nailed down a style direction for her wedding gown, looking to her mother’s dress for inspiration.
