Little Big Town‘s “Better Man” won the 2018 Grammy Awards trophy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance trophy on Sunday (Jan. 28). The honor was handed out during the Premiere Ceremony, which streamed online before the televised awards show.
The band was not there to accept the award, and presenter Paul Shaffer joked that he was going to take the trophy home and put it on his mantle.
“Better Man” has been a massive hit, and LBT waited until after its release to share part of the secret to its success: it was written by Taylor Swift.
Other nominees for the award were “It Ain’t My Fault” by the Brothers Osborne, “My Old Man” by Zac Brown Band, “You Look Good” by Lady Antebellum and “Drinkin’ Problem” by Midland.
