Following the shootings at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, Nev., on Sunday night (Oct. 1), Kelsea Ballerini is urging her fans to try and make the world happier in simple ways. In an Instagram post, the singer shares the range of emotions she felt after the shooting, and also how she realized that she can turn those feelings into something more positive.
“I was reminded that each day really is a gift. And that there is still beauty around if you look for it,” Ballerini shares. “And that we have the ability to make people happy. To make people feel loved. And heard. And accepted.”
Ballerini goes on to explain that she is going to try and honor those that died in the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting by giving back: “I’m going to make 58 people smile and feel seen today,” she says.
