Kalie Shorr is giving fans the new music they’ve been waiting for with an EP called Awake, set for release on Jan. 26. The seven-track project features “Two Hands,” the first single, plus a title track and songs called “Candy” and “Cool Kids.”
“Sometimes, this industry makes you second guess yourself. It might not even mean to — there are just so many opinions and it’s easy to try to please everyone,” Shorr says in a press release. “This project is the first time I’ve tuned everything else out but my own gut feeling on who I am and what makes me unique.”

“This past summer, I bought a new electric guitar, met an amazing producer, and fell back in love with the records that made me want to write songs in the first place,” Shorr continues. “Before I knew it, the Awake EP was born. I couldn’t be more excited for it’s release, this record feels like the most authentic introduction to me I could give anyone.”
Awake follows the rising star’s 2017 EP Slingshot and the release of her debut single “Fight Like a Girl.” She’s also made waves with her cover of Taylor Swift‘s “Look What You Made Me Do” in collaboration with Lindsay Ell and Kelleigh Bannen.
Shorr was named a Taste of Country RISERS act in 2017 and was recently appointed to CMT’s Next Women of Country class for 2018. She’ll embark on the CMT Next Women of Country Tour alongside RaeLynn and headliner Sara Evans starting Feb. 12.
