Hey world, look what you made Kalie Shorr, Kelleigh Bannen, and Lindsay Ell do.
The three female country stars joined forces at this year’s CMT Next Women of Country event, surprising the crowd with a cover of Taylor Swift’s single “Look What You Made Me Do.” Following the showcase, the three turned their performance into a bonafide music video and did so in the name of a great cause.
Leading the trio off is Song Suffragette Shorr, who was also just announced as a member of the 2018 CMT Next Women of Country Tour, along with Sara Evans and RaeLynn. Joining her during the first chorus is Bannen, who captured the attention of fans and critics this year with her stunning ballad “Church Clothes.” Rounding out the performers is guitar prodigy Ell who entered the stage wailing on her electric, proving just how much the girls of Nashville rock.
Yes, kicking off the annual ode to country music females during CMA Awards week was a huge honor, but when you couple that role with the ability to touch lives everywhere, the reward becomes tenfold. At the end of the video, the phone number set up by RAINN (1-800-656-HOPE), a national sexual assault hotline, is displayed, encouraging people to reach out if they or someone they know has been victimized.
