
INTEGR8 RESEARCH has released a new study, “When Should Big Hits Become Recurrents,” which offered four tips to recognize when it’s time for a song to move to recurrent:
- On average, Top 40 stations should move songs out of power rotation after 24 weeks of consistent exposure.
- Country stations should typically move songs out of power rotation after 36 weeks of exposure.
- Programmers should examine SPOTIFY usage to see when their users are playing a song less often.
- Programmers should not use SHAZAM data to decide when to move a song to recurrent.
