As a military veteran himself, Craig Morgan is always looking for ways to give back to those who fight for their country. He’s accomplishing that goal with his new business venture, the Gallery at Morgan Farms.
When patrons walk into the gallery in the charming town of Dickson, Tenn., near Nashville, they’ll either see a Morgan family member or veteran behind the counter. Morgan and his crew are committed to helping those who have served by hiring them to work at the family store.
“We truly have a great appreciation, having served in the military myself, for what it is they do,” Morgan tells Taste of Country Nights. “If it were not for those men and women who are willing to put themselves in harm’s way, we would not live the life that we live in this country today.”

“We said from the very beginning that whoever we employ that’s not a family member, we wanted to make sure they were a veteran so we can reach out to those guys and make sure they’re recognized,” adds Morgan’s daughter, Aly, who curates products and helps run the store.
The Gallery at Morgan Farms is much more than simply a place to buy beautiful art pieces, local products and wood carvings (whittled by Morgan himself). Visitors get a story each time they come into the shop. From the handmade wooden bowls and spoons to the paintings done by local artist and friend Kimberly Daniel, each piece is special.
“It’s very artistic,” Morgan explains. “I tell people all the time, we’re not selling wooden bowls and spoons or even just the paintings … we’re selling stories.”
Nearly every item is created by a Morgan family member or friend. Aly and her mother Karen blend lip balms and facial scrubs, while her grandmother makes pillows and her brother creates beard oils and combs. “It’s really cool that we’re able to bring all of our talents together as a family and distribute them,” Aly says. “My mom actually hand writes stories on cards and my dad signs those cards. You get that story when you purchase something from us.”
Morgan and family are the centerpiece of a new UP TV series called Morgan Family Strong, which follows their journey of opening the store and life after the death of their son and brother, Jerry, who passed away in a boating accident in 2016.
Taste of Country Nights is a syndicated night show which airs on more than 100 radio stations nationwide. Listen to highlights on iTunes or your Android device.
