February’s first Guest Room Sessions installment is a perfect way to kick off the month that holds Valentine’s Day. For this clip, singer-songwriter Tony Lucca teamed up with Florida Georgia Line bassist Tom Beaupre to perform Lucca’s original song “My Love.”
Lucca and Beaupre’s Guest Room Sessions performance takes place in Beaupre’s studio, the same spot in which they wrote “My Love.” Readers can press play above to watch.
“Although Tom plays bass for FGL, he can clearly rock an acoustic handily,” Lucca tells The Boot. “Tom and I have written a couple together, and it’s always fun putting songs up on their feet with those who helped bring them to life.”
In January, Beaupre joined Lucca at Nashville’s the Local, to perform as part of Lucca’s ongoing monthly residency in Music City. Lucca has used the shows as opportunities to work out new material before he heads into the studio this spring to record his forthcoming album.
“It was great having Tom come be a part of the showcase,” Lucca says, “to see him step away from his role as bass player in one of country’s biggest bands to express himself as a writer and Nashville bada–.”
Lucca’s next residency show at the Local is scheduled for Feb. 14. In the meantime, he’s joining blues artist Jonny Lang on a tour across the Midwest and Southeast. Beaupre, meanwhile, continues to tour the country with Florida Georgia Line.
