Farewell Angelina‘s new Christmas song “Good Ole Boy” paints Santa as a down-home country boy, and we’ve got no problems with that!
During this premiere of “Good Ole Boy,” the country quartet sing about Santa’s fishing hole up near the North Pole and red camouflage suit before asking him for something extra special on December 25.
“Dear Mr. Claus, I’m not asking for toys / I’ll leave the moonshine out, shoot some mistletoe down if you’ll do a little something for me / Wrap a ribbon around a good ole boy and leave him under my tree,” singer Lisa Torres sings at the chorus.
The Farewell Angelina original blends the group’s sweet harmonies with a more blue-collar redneck lyric. “I want a man who loves the SEC, ’cause so do we” they all sing at the end of the second verse. They get it!
This performance of “Good Ole Boy” at the Taste of Country studios caps an eventful year for Torres, Nicole Witt, Lauren Lucas and Andrea Young. The 2017 Taste of Country RISERS won the Hot Seat fan vote to become RISERS and performed a memorable version of an original called “If I Didn’t Have You” and an unforgettable cover of “House of the Rising Sun” in February. The group started and ended a great year with ToC. Keep an eye on their Twitter for great things to come in 2018.
