Our arts critics have already recommended 67 great things to do this week, our music critics have picked the 30 best concerts, and we’ve compiled all of the Hanukkah events, but there are still hundreds more events happening. To prevent some of the quirkier and more extraordinary ones from slipping through the cracks, we’ve compiled them here—ranging from Star Wars-themed events like Star Wars Galactic Lights at the Woodland Park Zoo and A Galaxy Far, Far Away… The Concert to the closing of ACT’s Ham for the Holidays: The Hamchurian Candidate to a Krampus-inspired Drinking, Cursing, and Cooking demonstration. For even more options this week, check out our complete Things To Do calendar.

13. Collide-O-Scope: Feel the Force
From an e-mail I received in 2007: “My name is Brian Daniels. If you are the Charles Mudede I think you are, we were childhood friends attending a small elementary school in Sharptown, MD. I remember your father, mother, and sister. I also remember the sad day you and your family moved away to Zimbabwe in 1981. I watched from my parents’ home as the VW Bug your father drove carted all of you away. I was in tears because you were one of the best friends I had at the time. I think we were huge Star Wars fans…” Because I’m still a huge Star Wars fan, I can watch almost anything related to that faraway galaxy. This is why I cannot miss Collide-O-Scope’s presentation of “special found footage” that features “the wildest, weirdest, and Wookiee-est moments inspired by George Lucas’s pop culture phenomenon Star Wars.” There will also be “classic toy commercials, musical numbers, [and] rip-offs.” All of this sounds like heaven to me. CHARLES MUDEDE

Crystal Beth & the Boom Boom Band are what happens when accomplished jazz musicians decide to take a reckless holiday in the rock realm. The Seattle group—led by the feral vocalizing and bass clarinet of Crystal Beth and featuring the flagrantly virtuosic guitar of Tristan Gianola—assay a kind of artful, deranged rock that recalls the Dirty Three and the Geraldine Fibbers at their most agitated and, alternately, at their most lugubrious. Check out the waltz-time rager of “Flesh” off Yugen 3 for evidence of the former. DAVE SEGAL
17. A Galaxy Far, Far Away… The Concert
Enjoy “A Galaxy Far, Far Away… The Concert,” a 40th anniversary celebration of “the greatest space movie of all time,” or as everyone else knows it, Star Wars. Local musicians Andy Coe, Joe Doria, and their crews will play instrumental covers and music inspired by George Lucas’ film legacy.

Their live shows are all about giving people a reason to put on a zoot suit or cocktail dress and cut the rug, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t a great band with some excellent tunes like “You & Me & the Bottle Makes 3 Tonight” and “Minnie the Moocher,” for example.
