Darryl Worley, ‘Lonely Alone’ Lyric Video [Exclusive Premiere]

Nashville’s Darryl Worley is debuting the lyric video for his new song “Lonely Alone” exclusively for readers of The Boot. Fans can press play above to watch.

Though decidedly in the “breakup song” category, “Lonely Alone” isn’t about sitting at home pining after the one who’s done you wrong. Instead, it’s a more logical spin on the genre, an ode to folks in terrible relationships who desperately need to cut ties.

“Girl, we don’t talk anymore, so what are we waitin’ for? / It feels like you’re a half a world away,” Worley sings in the first lines of “Lonely Alone.” “Ain’t no need to make up, that’s not gonna save us / Girl, if it ain’t love, there ain’t no reason to stay.”

Worley — who scored three No. 1 hits in the early 2000s — is currently working on a new album. Few details have been released about that project so far, but “Lonely Alone” will definitely appear on the forthcoming album. This disc will be the first full-length album by Worley since 2009, when he released Sounds Like Life.

No release date or title for Worley’s forthcoming album have been announced just yet, but fans can expect for it to arrive sometime in 2018. In the meantime, fans can visit DarrylWorley.com to keep up with his goings-on.
