On her new record, I Don’t Believe We’ve Met, Danielle Bradbery‘s ultimate goal is to have fans feel a deep connection to its songs. One track in particular that’s already resonating with listeners is “Worth It,” a song about a strong woman knowing her worth and refusing to back down.
“I’m worth it / You’re crazy baby if you think that I don’t know it / I ain’t afraid to walk away if you can’t see it, believe it / And give me the love I’m deserving,” she powerfully sings in the chorus.
Dealing with a rollercoaster of a relationship, Bradbery has been in the position of knowing her worth and demanding respect; and there’s one segment of the population that’s connected to the song deeply – fathers. “I get a lot of dads come up to me and say ‘I really appreciate you singing this and having a song like this because I want my daughter to be inspired by it.’ And that touches me so much because I’m like ‘that’s exactly what I wanted,’” Bradbery says, heartwarmingly.
The 21-year-old has a heart for making music that impacts fans, like the stirring “Human Diary” that finds her pouring her heart out to a boyfriend. “Worth It” is almost the flip side of the coin, with the singer being unwavering in knowing who she is and refusing to stay with anyone who doesn’t see her value.
It’s that sense of empowerment she hopes to instill in fans. “Anything to get the fans connected or anything I can do to help in any way, that’s what I want to do and ‘Worth It,’ it’s a different feeling singing it personally and performing it, so I love all of those feelings,” she says.
Bradbery co-wrote “Worth It” with Jeff Pardo and Molly Reed. I Don’t Believe We’ve Met is out Dec. 1.
