Dr. Bruce Nelson
ALL ACCESS extends condolences to family and friends of COUNTRY RADIO HALL OF FAME member DR. BRUCE NELSON, following his SUNDAY (2/25) passing. NELSON had announced a battle with throat cancer last year (NET NEWS 5/17). His wife, SANDRA STRATTON posted the news on FACEBOOK today, saying, “I am so sad to tell you all that BRUCE went to heaven to be with JESUS in his sleep real early this morning … There will be a memorial service at a later date to be determined when we will all feel more like a celebration than we do now. Thanks for your love and your prayers. SANDI.”
A 2004 CRHOF inductee, NELSON’s radio career included stops at WUBE/CINCINNATI, KENR/HOUSTON, and WMIL/MILWAUKEE, among others. His most recent radio stop was doubling as GM/mornings for QUALITY Country KFTX/CORPUS CHRISTI, TX, before retiring in 2010.
