MERCURY NASHVILLE’s CHRIS STAPLETON swept at last night’s (1/28) “60TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS,” taking home all three gramophones for which he was nominated (NET NEWS 11/28/17). STAPLETON also took the stage alongside EMMYLOU HARRIS to perform “Wildflowers” in tribute to the late TOM PETTY. CAPITOL NASHVILLE’s LITTLE BIG TOWN, also winners last night, performed their hit “Better Man,” while a collaboration between ERIC CHURCH, MAREN MORRIS, and BROTHERS OSBORNE on the ERIC CLAPTON hit, “Tears In Heaven,” paid tribute to those who lost their lives to concert violence last year (NET NEWS 1/18). Additionally, REBA MCENTIRE came away a winner for Best Roots Gospel Album for her “Sing It Now: Songs Of Faith & Hope” project, while JASON ISBELL won two GRAMMYs for both Best AMERICAN Roots Song (“If We Were Vampires”) and Best Americana Album (“The NASHVILLE Sound”).
