Carrie Underwood‘s broken wrist was a pretty serious injury: On Wednesday (Nov. 15), the country star revealed that she had undergone surgery to help fix the break.
In a tweet, Underwood shared that she had surgery on her wrist on Tuesday (Nov. 14), four days after falling outside of her Nashville-area home and breaking it.
“[A]ll went well … even though I’ll be setting off airport metal detectors from now on,” Underwood says. “I’m so thankful for the doctors, nurses, family & friends who’ve been taking such great care of me.”
According to previous reports, Underwood’s fall on Friday night (Nov. 10) left her with a broken wrist and some cuts and abrasions. She was treated at a nearby hospital and released; her husband, Mike Fisher, returned to Nashville overnight to be by her side.
“Thanks so much for all the well wishes everybody … I’ll be alright … might just take some time …,” Underwood tweeted around 11AM ET on Sunday (Nov. 12). “Glad I’ve got the best hubby in the world to take care of me.”
The original statement from Underwood’s representative notes that the singer “appreciates all prayers and well wishes,” and that her recovery will “take some time.” Underwood suffered her fall just two nights after co-hosting the 2017 CMA Awards, for a 10th consecutive year, with Brad Paisley.
