Carly Pearce isn’t one for big New Year’s Eve celebrations. In fact, she just might be asleep when the clock strikes midnight on Jan. 1.
“I feel like every year it’s just kind of the same deal with my friends, especially since I’ve had the same group of friends in Nashville for almost seven years now and we do the same thing every year,” she says in an interview with her record label, Big Machine Label Group. “So it’s never really that exciting.”
Pearce admits that her most fun New Year’s celebration ncluded a trip to Cabo.
“That was pretty fun just ’cause I got to spend it on a beach,” she adds, “but it’s just another day. The older I get the more I’m just like, ehh whatever. I’m sometimes in bed before the ball drops.”
The country singer has much to celebrate this year, even if she does go to bed early. She saw chart success with her debut single “Every Little Thing.” The song topped the country charts in November and broke several records as Pearce became the only solo female with a charting country debut single certified Gold in 2017. Additionally, she was the highest charting solo female debut since July 2015, and she is one of only four women to accomplish this feat in the past 15 years.
Pearce’s new single, “Hide the Wine,” is out now, and the singer will join Blake Shelton on his Country Music Freaks Tour and Thomas Rhett‘s Life Changes Tour in 2018.
