As WINTER STORM GRAYSON continues to wreck Southern states, SAGA COMMUNICATIONS Country WCKN (KICKIN’ 92.5)/CHARLESTON, SC PD/Afternoon host JESS JENNINGS checked in with ALL ACCESS this afternoon (1/3) to share how their station has been dealing with the weather issues. JENNINGS shared that, due to an accumulation of ice, now covered in a couple of inches of snow, all bridges in and around CHARLESTON have been closed, and many people are stranded at work — including the KICKIN’ team. Check out JENNINGS’ video on FACEBOOK detailing the snow and ice here.
“We knew yesterday there would be some issues with weather,” JENNINGS shared. “I packed a bag and enough warm clothes to share. Today, all of the bridges in and out of CHARLESTON were closed by 9a [ET]. Our station has been live all day as we field KICKIN’ COUNTRY check-ins from listeners. That’s the fun part of this job, and I’m thankful to SAGA for allowing us to be live and local. That’s the fun part of the job. I’m not trying to take pleasure out of other people’s inconveniences, but if they need to know about a road closure or a business or school closing or delay, we have that information for them.” JENNINGS and team will have plenty of opportunity to be live and local, as temperatures in CHARLESTON are expected to remain in the 20s and 30s for most of the week.
