Zac Brown Band Deliver Stunning, Simple Anthem at College National Title Game

When the Georgia Bulldogs took on the Alabama Crimson at the 2108 NCAA college football playoff championship Jan. 8 in Atlanta, there were many elements for fans to focus on besides the juicy SEC heavyweight matchup—not the least being President Donald Trump in attendance.

One thing united all the fans in the stadium regardless of politics or collegiate alliance, however: the Zac Brown Band‘s lovely and simple performance of the National Anthem before the big game. Backed by Atlanta gospel chorus David Walker and High Praise, the band delivered an a cappella version of the anthem, which was uplifted by the choir’s soaring vocals.

They also were joined by 12-year old Carly Ortega, who performed the anthem in sign language in honor of her mother, Daniella Osborne-King, a Georgia fan who lost a battle with cancer in November.

President Donald Trump was prominently visible in the audience, standing at attention with his hand over his heart. Whoever he was rooting for was not made clear, but the ZBB left no mystery to their alliance, posting a photo with the hashtag #GoDawgs.
