‘Who I Am’ Singer Jessica Andrews Welcomes First Child

Former teen country star Jessica Andrews and her husband have welcomed their first child, a baby boy.

The singer gave birth to her son, Rockwell, on Tuesday (Feb. 6), and she turned to Instagram to post an adorable black-and-white photo on Friday (Feb. 9). The picture shows the beaming new mom cradling her tiny little son close as he rests his head on her shoulder.

“How do you even figure out words to describe feelings that you didn’t know you could have?!” she writes to accompany the photo. “I’ll just say welcome to this world my beautiful baby boy Rockwell. Born 2/6/18.”

The Cutest Baby Bumps in Country Music

Andrews released her debut album, Heart Shaped World, in 1999 at the age of 15, and scored her commercial breakthrough with “Who I Am” at 17. The title song from her second album reached No. 1 in 2000, and she followed it with a Top 20 hit, “There’s More to Me Than You,” which she co-wrote with Marcel Chagnon. Her label, DreamWorks, closed after her third album, Now, in 2003, and a planned fourth album was shelved. She continues to perform and release new music.

Chagnon is a singer-songwriter who released his debut album, You, Me and the Windshield, in 2003. He has written songs for Trace Adkins, Rascal Flatts, Big & Rich and more, and is also a well-known video director for artists including Chuck Wicks, Frankie Ballard, Clay Walker and Kid Rock. The couple married in November of 2011, and Andrews announced she was expecting a baby boy in September of 2017 via Instagram.
