‘The Voice’: Megan Rose Rounds Out Team Miley With Bobbie Gentry Cover

The Voice Season 13 Blind Auditions night six aired Tuesday night (Oct. 10) with coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Miley Cyrus and new girl on the block Jennifer Hudson. Cyrus’s team was completed this evening with a San Francisco-based country vocalist, Megan Rose, who won over Cyrus with a smoky version of Bobbie Gentry’s 1967 Southern Gothic classic “Ode to Billie Joe.”

“That’s good, that’s good,” mused Shelton just a few bars into the song, but only Levine and Cyrus (simultaneously) turned their chairs.

“Please pick me, please pick me!” said Cyrus, before Rose could even introduce herself. “I’m on the verge of making herstory on ‘The Voice,” referring to Cyrus’s goal of having the first 100% female team.

Hudson agreed with her, but Levine put up a fight, saying, “We’re talking about music here. Your decision should be completely based on who you think would be a better coach.”

Rose apparently had no problems making that decision, picking Cyrus without too much apparent struggle, thus filling out Cyrus’s team.
Season 13 of The Voice will air on Monday and Tuesday nights at 8PM ET on NBC.
