Nashville songwriter Kenny “KB” Beard has died. The accomplished tunesmith, a Louisiana native, passed away from natural causes, on Sunday (Oct. 1).

As reported by MusicRow, Beard is well known as the writer of popular songs for Trace Adkins, including “The Rest of Mine,” “Big Time” and “Brown Chicken, Brown Cow.” He also wrote songs for Tracy Lawrence, including “As Any Fool Can See,” “My Second Home,” “If The World Had a Front Porch” and “Is That a Tear.”

“KB was a loving husband, devoted father, accomplished songwriter, unlicensed therapist to many, music manager, record producer, friend and ‘Yoda’ to most. Kenny spent his life loving God, friends and family to the fullest,” reads an obituary in the Wilson Post. “In his final years, he found much joy in using his musical talents to minister to the Mount Juliet Community and beyond through live music performances at the Chick-Fil-A Providence Marketplace.”

Beard’s family is asking that, instead of flowers, those wishing to express their condolences make donations on behalf of Beard to Campus Outreach Knoxville, with a memo referencing the General Outreach Knoxville General Fund. Those looking to donate in Beard’s memory can visit Campus Outreach Knoxville’s official website.
