Keith Urban, Little Big Town + More Tribute Fleetwood Mac at MusiCares Gala [Watch]

Country music was well-represented on Friday night (Jan. 26) at the MusiCares Person of the Year benefit honoring Fleetwood Mac.

Keith Urban, Litte Big Town, Zac Brown Band and Alison Krauss were among the artists who took the stage at Radio City Music Hall in New York City to pay tribute to the iconic rock act in advance of the 60th annual Grammy Awards. The songs they played drew from Fleetwood Mac’s iconic 1977 album, Rumors.

Little Big Town demonstrated once again why they are one of the most-respected vocal groups in contemporary music with their rendition of “Dreams.”

Krauss delivered a haunting, evocative version of “Songbird,” topping off her flawless vocal performance with a dual solo between her violin and a dobro.

The night also included musical tributes from Haim, Lorde and more before Zac Brown Band closed the tribute portion of the show with “Don’t Stop,” and President Bill Clinton — who used that song during his presidential campaign and invited Fleetwood Mac to perform it at his inauguration — gave a speech before presenting the musicians with their award.

“‘Don’t Stop’ has been played for me more times than ‘Hail to the Chief,'” Clinton joked (quote via Entertainment Weekly). “Fleetwood Mac have meant a lot to a lot of people and they can still bring us to our feet, put a song in our heart, and remind us to never stop thinking about tomorrow.”

Fleetwood Mac also took the stage to perform a set of their own songs.

MusiCares raises money to support the music community by assisting with medical bills, substance abuse rehabilitation and prevention, emergency relief and more. The organization has raised nearly $58 million since it was founded in 1989. Friday evening’s gala took in an additional $7 million.
