Did Miranda Lambert Smack Down Blake Shelton Onstage?

If you happened to be wondering how Miranda Lambert planned to handle the (now outdated) line “I live in Oklahoma” when performing her 2015 hit “Little Red Wagon,” you can ease your mind. The singer found a rather saucy replacement for the lyric during the opening night of her Livin’ Like Hippies tour Jan. 18 in Greenville, S.C., and it sounds very much like a not-so-subtle dig at her ex-husband, Blake Shelton.

In a fan video posted to Instagram, Lambert struts and shimmies her way on stage up to the fateful verse, before replacing the line with a pointed “I got the hell out of Oklahoma!”

Well, we all know Oklahoma is where Shelton is from. And that the two, while married, shared a home there. And that Shelton retained that home after their 2015 divorce, while Lambert kept their Nashville properties instead. So, yeah, that was sassy! Unsurprisingly, the audience broke into delighted cheers at her audacity.

Lambert’s tour, which runs through late March, gets its name from a lyric from “Highway Vagabond,” a song from her 2016 The Weight of These Wings double album. That album was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2017 CMAs, and her song “Tin Man” was nominated for both Single and Song of the Year. “Tin Man” is also up for a Grammy Award on Jan. 28.
