Chris Young Plans Headlining Losing Sleep Tour for 2018

Chris Young has big tour plans in 2018: After serving as an opening act on Jason Aldean‘s They Don’t Know Tour this year, the singer will headline his own Losing Sleep Tour, which is scheduled to kick off on Jan. 11 in Indianapolis, Ind.

“I’m so excited. It’s going to be the biggest tour I’ve ever done,” Young reveals to The Boot. “It’s more buses and more trucks than I’ve ever had out there. We’re doing bigger rooms than I’ve ever played.”

Young is especially excited about the artists that will be joining him on the road, Kane Brown and Lanco in January and February, and Brown, Morgan Evans and Dee Jay Silver in April and May. He hints that there will be at least one opportunity for one of the acts to share the stage with him during his set.

“I love my lineup,” Young says. “I think people know I’m friends with Kane. The first EP he did [Chapter 1], I have a song that I co-wrote with him on that. I wrote a song [“Comeback”] that actually he was not a writer on that he liked and cut on his record. And now that he’s done his deluxe, we have a duet on there, [“Setting the Night on Fire”], which I’m totally going to put into the show. It’s going to be a cool moment in the show for me and for him — just a lot of cool stuff came together in a lot of ways.”

As for Lanco, Young adds, “I love those guys. They’ve opened for me on quite a few shows, and I know how insanely talented they are. From top to bottom, I just think everything that’s going on and everything that’s going into that is going to make for an incredible, incredible year.”

In 2016, Young headlined his I’m Comin’ Over Tour, with Cassadee Pope serving as his opener. But instead of headlining another trek this year, or taking a well-deserved rest, the Tennessee native decided to join Aldean on his tour, and Young says it was one of the easiest decisions he ever made.

“[He’s a] two-time Entertainer of the Year. If you’re going to pick somebody to go back out with after you’ve done your own thing, it had to be somebody like Jason, that is of that stature,” Young shares. “And obviously the numbers he does at shows are just crazy. It’s been a lot of fun for me to go back and do that, and it also enables me to look forward to next year and be really excited and get ideas for what I want to do, from watching his show, moving forward with my own.”
