Amazon Tracks the Most Popular Country Song in Every State

Amazon Music tracked the top country songs in each state based on share of streams from May to July—and there are plenty of interesting takeaways.

Some states have a lot of pride in their native sons:

  • The top song in Illinois is “Illinois” by Illinois native Brett Eldredge.
  • North Carolina’s top song is “Carolina Can” by N.C native Chase Rice.
  • The king is Texas is George Strait’s “I Got a Car.”
  • Arizona likes native son Dierks Bentley’s “I’ll Be the Moon.”
  • Alabamians prefer Alabama’s “Dixieland Delight.”
  • Kentucky’s top song is native son Chris Stapleton’s “Nobody to Blame”

Some states like to drink:

  • Florida’s top song is “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” by Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet.
  • Georgia’s top song is “A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega” by Ashley McBryde.
  • Idaho’s top song is “Drinking Class” by Lee Brice.
  • Nebraska’s top song is “Drink in My Hand” by Eric Church.
  • New Mexico’s top song is “Sangria” by Blake Shelton.
  • Wisconsin’s top song is “Dozen Roses and a Six Pack” by Cole Swindell.

Some artists are popular in multiple states:

  • Jason Aldean had the top song in Colorado, Delaware and Indiana.
  • Carrie Underwood had the top song in Maine, New Jersey and Utah.
  • Keith Urban had the top song in California, New Jersey and Oregon.
  • Miranda Lambert had the top song in Alaska, Maine and Oklahoma.
